Date1975Collection SummaryThe University of Waikato has on permanent loan, a kiwi feather cloak, a piupiu and tipare (headband), which had been the property of the late Mr. Tasman Rangi Hogg. Mr J. Day, a descendant of the owner of the cloak, and Mrs. Hogg presented the taonga to the university in 1975.Description
The kiwi feather cloak is dotted with kereru feathers, and has taaniko borders of muka and worsted wool. Long fowl feathers are attached to the central top edge.
